After a successful mission to deliver a Japanese laboratory to the International Space Station, Cape Canaveral crew started checking landing systems and packed gear for Space Shuttle Discovery. As they test fired Discovery’s steering jets they saw a very mysterious object in the bay. Grabbing cameras to photograph it while it flew away.

A closer look they figured it to be part of the thermal insulation. This little discovery is said to be nothing to avoid the landing of the Discovery tomorrow. Meteorologist are predicting good weather for the landing.

For two weeks the shuttle has been in Orbit installing Japan’s $1 billion, bus-sized Kibo laboratory onto the space station, resupply the outpost and bring home returning station flight engineer Garrett Reisman.

The shuttles have been flying since 1981. Discovery’s mission is the program’s 123rd.
